13 Games Till Wembley
The Deans beat Verwood Town 4-0 in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. The goals came from a Gary Austin double, Torr Spicer and a Nathan Paxton header. This was Horndean's first FA Cup game in 20 years, last time The Deans played in The FA Cup was in 1991 vs. Newbury Town, where Newbury ran out 2-1 winners. Horndean will face either Hayling United or Bridport at home on Saturday 3rd September. The final score in the game between Bridport and Hayling United was, Briport 2 Hayling United 2. The replay will be played on Tuesday night.

Wessex League Opnener
Today at Five Heads, Horndean came away with a share of the points after a well fought out draw against Downton. The first half finished 0-0 with Horndean dominating in most areas, and having several chances on goal. In the second half Downton came out a revitalised side, and scored within a minute of the second half kicking off. The goal came from Declan McGregor, it was a curling shot from 25 yards, that found the top corner. Horndean's equaliser came from an inspired substitution, when on the hour Gary Austin came on to replace Jack Warren. Shortly afterwards Gary Austin out paced Downton's left back to beat the keeper at the near post, to make the score 1-1. Thats how the game finished, and The Deans now look forward to an away trip to Verwood Town in the FA Cup on saturday 20th.

Two New Signings
Grant Blackmore joins the Deans, from Conference South side Eastleigh. The former Portsmouth Youth player, is expected to be in the squad for the FA Cup tie against Verwood Town. The Deans have also signed Ryad Gadd from Havant & Waterlooville, Ryan is aslo expected to be in the squad for the game at Verwood Town. Blackmore and Gadd have both had experience playing first team football for their former clubs, and they have been bought in to bolster an already strong and competitive squad.

Hanna Cup Champions
Tonight Horndean won the 100th Hanna Cup at Love Lane, home of Petersfield Town FC. Horndean beat Petersfield Town 2-0 in front on a decent size crowd and the local media. The Deans scored 15 minutes into the game through Torr Spicer, after a good cross from Aaron Fennemore. Blu Boam came on as a substitute with just over 15 minutes to go, to score Horndean's second with 88 minutes on the clock, to seal the win. This is the second trophy captain Aaron Fennemore has lifted for the club since May. Horndean will now look forward to hosting fellow Premier Division new boys Downton FC at Five Heads Park on Saturday 13th August. Kick Off is 3pm, and admission for the league opener is £5 for Adults and £2 for Concessions, the matchday programme will be priced at £1.

The Deans Reserve side lost 3-0 to a strong Eastleigh Reserve team today at Five Heads.

Havant & Waterlooville XI Friendly
Horndean went down 3-1 to The Hawks at Five Heads Park tonight. Horndean were 3-0 down and down to 10 men at half time, due to Dan Sharpe being sent off. The Deans came out in the second half a revitalised team and kept the Havant goalkeeper busy. Then Havant were reduced to 10 men after they had a man sent off for a head butt early on in the second half. The Deans scored a consilation goal through a Torr Spicer penalty, midway through the second half.

Midhurst Friendly
Midhurst were the visitors to Five Heads this evening to play Horndean's first team. Horndean won this game 4-0 in this very entertaining game, where Torr Spicer hit the crossbar from 50 yards and Midhurst missed a penalty. Tom Chapman opened the scoring with a bullet header from a corner, Dan Hayes made it two just before the break with a strike from 20 yards. In the second half substitute Dan Sharpe scored an impressive right foot strike into the bottom corner. Nathan Paxton completed the scoring with the game nearing it conclusion, after he returned form his short spell at Gosport Borough. Havant and Waterlooville are the next visitors to Five Heads Park on Friday 29th with a 7.30pm ko.

Clanfield Friendly
Horndean won a thrilling encounter 6-5 at Fiveheads Park. Dan Hayes, Brad Fairweather, Dan Sharpe, Aaron Fennemore, Alex Milroy and Gary Austin were all on target for The Deans. Simon Howard and Jason Plomer were both unavailable so 16 year-old youth team goalkeeper, Ryan Groves went in goal.

Cowplain United Friendly
Our reserves took on City of Portsmouth Sunday Senior Division side Cowplain United on the outside pitch tonight, as part of the warm up to the new Wyvern Combination League season. The Reserves lost 2-1, The Deans only goal came from defender Kev Chatfield.

Russell-Cotes Cup Draw
Laverstock & Ford will be the visitors to Five Heads on Tuesday 25th October, in the first round of the Russell-Cotes Cup. This match takes place just 4 days before Horndean have to travel to face them in the league.

Wyvern Combination League Cup Draw
Horndean have recieved a bye into the second round of the competition, where they will travel to Tadley Calleva. Date and kick off time to be confirmed.

Gosport Borough Friendly
Horndean lost 2-1 against Gosport Borough today at Five Heads, it was a very good performance from the Deans, but were unlucky to lose there 1-0 lead Torr Spicer gave the Deans midway through the first half. Gosport scored a goal early on in the second half to equalise and they got there winner 20 minutes from the end from the penalty spot.

New Signing
The Deans have completed the signing of ex Fareham Town midfielder Bryn Mckie. Bryn has played in a few friendlies for Horndean this summer, while Horndean were trying to sort out his registration which was finalise after the Gosport Borough game.

Locks Heath Friendly
Horndean came away with a 5-0 victory from Five Heads Park this evening after a heavy defeat Saturday. Horndean found their feet again with this emphatic win over Hampshire League side Locks Heath. The Deans goals came from Jack Warren and a Brad Fairweather penalty in the first half, and with 10 changes at the break with the exception of the penalty scorer, Horndean went on to score a further 3 goals. Two of the second half goals came from last seasons top goalscorer Torr Spicer, and the fifth and final goal came from Bryn Mckie.

Double Signing
Today the Deans, have completed the signing of midfielder Dan Hayes from Fareham Town, and have also signed defender Nik Taylor, previously of Hayling United and Petersfield Town.

Farnham Town Friendly
Today at Five Heads Park, Horndean reserves came away with 1-1 draw against Farnham Town reserves, with the goal coming in the second half from Deon Newby. In the other game, the first team lost 4-0 to Farham Town's first team, who also got promoted from their division last season. 

FA Cup Draw
Horndean will travel to Verwood Town in the extra preliminary round on Saturday 20th August. The winners of this tie will go onto face either Bridport or Hayling United away in the preliminary round on Saturday 3rd September. If succesfull in both preliminary rounds, Horndean could face either Fleet Spurs, Hungerford Town or Shrewton United away from home on Saturday 1st October in the first qualifying round. All kick offs to be 3pm.

FA Vase Draw
Lymington Town at home will be the deans first task in this years FA Vase on Saturday 10th September in the first qualifying round. If Horndean manage to see off Lymington, then a trip to either Newport IOW or Christchurch could be on the cards in the second qualifying round on Saturday 24th September. Horndean could face either Andover New Street or Bridport at home in the first round proper on Saturday 22nd October. All kick offs to be 3pm.

Pre Season Fixture Change
Horndean Utd have pulled out of Saturdays friendly at Five Heads. There will still be a fixture going ahead on the day, but instead it will be the 1st and 2nd teams of Farnham Town. Horndean's 2nd team will take on Farnham's 2nd team before both 1st teams play. The 2nd teams will kick off at 1pm with the 1st teams taking to the field at 3pm.

Hampshire Cup Draw
Horndean have been drawn at home to GE Hamble in the 1st round, the game is set to be played on Tuesday 30th August with a 7.45pm Kick Off. The winner of this tie will go onto face either Tadley Calleva or Blackfield & Langley away from home. That 2nd round tie will be played on Tueday 4th October.
